Ich habe mir vor kurzem die Zeit genommen und die Anleitung unter Time for some PC Winter Cleaning mal durchgearbeitet. Es ist doch erstaunlich wie viel so ein Rechner schneller sein kann, wenn man mal ein paar alte Dateien löscht und die Registry aufräumt.

Selbst wenn Ihr nicht alles Schritt für Schritt befolgen wollt, sind immer noch ein paar ziemlich coole Software-Tipps dabei.

Manuela Hoffmann hat es so treffend gesagt, dass ich dem nichts hinzuzufügen habe.

Wer täglich mehrere Stunden an Monitor und Tastatur zubringt, sollte ein waches Auge auf die Gestaltung dieser Zeit haben. Es geht nicht nur darum, diese Arbeitszeit möglichst effektiv zu verbringen, sondern auch darum, dies möglichst gesund zu tun. Dabei spielen ein gut gestalteter Arbeitsplatz und auch die richtige Planung von Pausen eine entscheidende Rolle. Auf Letzteres möchte ich im Folgenden näher eingehen, denn ich habe zwei Programme gefunden, die recht durchsetzungsstark auf einzulegende Pausen hinweisen.

SharpConstruct is a 3D modeling program that paint depths on to polygon models in real-time. Unlike traditional modeling programs, SharpConstruct makes it easy to model organic shapes. There is no need to even look at a wireframe (unless you want to). Instead, the model is manipulated much like clay — push or pull an area, smooth it, make a hollow or a hill. The entire process is both simple and organic; you won’t need years of modeling experience to create detailed models in SharpConstruct.

Sounds a lot like an OpenSource ZBrush Clone to me. Haven’t tried it yet, but for a 0.12 Release it sure looks promising.

The Internet Archive is a gigantic resource for Movies, Music, Software and Texts.

One of the gems in my opinion is the SIGGRAPH Electronic Theatre.

Creating smaller and smaller devices (handhelds, mobile phones) has one big disadvantage: How to present huge amounts of information on those devices that have only displays some centimeters in size.

The answer regarding the „Zentrum fuer graphische Datenverarbeitung“ is some new technique called „Liquid browsing“.

Just read an interresting news at Golem.de. SourceForge is going to support Subversion in the future. At the moment they’ll slowly roll out SVN support to some bigger projects but will make it available for everyone soon. Of course they will leave the CVS support as is and the project managers can choose their preferred system. That’s what I call good news
