Nachdem Google Chrome zwischenzeitlich das Beta-Stadium verlassen hat, finde ich auch endlich mal die Zeit den zugehörigen Comic zu verlinken. Schöne Sache das … vielleicht sogar Elterntauglich

Für die Sicherheitsfanatiker gibt es übrigens auch den Iron-Build, ohne nach Hause Telefonier Funktionen.

Es scheint, als würde Facebook mit Connect zur großen offensive gegen OpenId ansetzen. Auch Google hat vor ein paar Tagen mit Friend Connect eine Gegenbewegung gestartet. Ironischerweise scheint Microsoft mit der OpenId Unterstützung für LiveId noch am ehesten nach den Regeln zu spielen.

Der Kampf um die Nutzer ist augenscheinlich heisser als je zuvor!

Ich habe gerade mit Hilfe dieser detaillierten Anleitung meinen Thunderbird mit dem Google Calendar verheiratet. Lightning hatte ich ohnehin schon am Start.

Wirklich zufriedenstellend ist das Ganze noch nicht, so werden zum Beispiel Serientermine nicht richtig angezeigt, aber als erster Schritt zum Online Office ist es nicht schlecht und ich werde an dieser Front auf jeden Fall weiter testen.

during the last weeks and possibly even months I collected a lot of interresting stuff for you. As I currently don’t feel like writing tons of blog entries you’ll get the compact version today. And here we go (in no particular order):

• Beryl
  is a OpenGL powered window manager with lots of nice effects like burning menus and 3D features. See YouTube for a lot of action clips or see this video for a impressive first glance.
  
• FlickrSpy – The Flickr Peepshow!
  This is what I’d call a useful AJAX application. See a endless list of the latest images uploaded at Flickr. Nothing more, but nothing less.
• 83 Beautiful WordPress Themes You (Probably) Haven’t Seen
  presented by smashing magazine. There are some real gems, but somehow I really like the default WordPress theme
• Shutdown Day
  Shutdown you computer a whole day!!! on March, 24th
• Command & Conquer 3
  is about to hit the streets and this might be the best time do download and play the 1.2 GB demo version!
• YUI-Hosting
  Yahoo is willing to host their your YUI files. This definitely looks like a win-win situation. You can save hundreds of bytes of traffic, and Yahoo will get every information about your users they could ever dream of But on the other hand, Google and it’s thousand tools ain’t better.
• MiniAjax.com
  A showroom of nice looking simple downloadable DHTML and AJAX scripts. There’s a site for everything out there!

  A german page ranking site. Enter your german domain name and get ranked. This page’s Seitwert is 30.60 / 100, but Yahoo’s is also only 49.39 / 100. Judge for yourself

Lenssen beschreibt bekannte und weniger bekannte Spielchen mit der Suchmaschine Google, vom Google Snake Game über Googledromes und Memecodes bis hin zum Googlesport. Hinzu kommen Cartoons, Tipps und Unannehmlichkeiten mit und für Google.

You need a 3D model? No prob, just go to Google 3D Warehouse and search for it. You find several models to download and use with Google’s own 3D software SketchUp.

Google released the Google Image Labeler game. The idea is that you will be labeling images along with a random partner, in real-time. When you both find the same keywords, you score points and advance to the next round. A high-score table shows who scored the most points.

More than a game, for Google this is a way to tag images using human brain power… to improve their image search results. Two people finding the same tag can serve as validation the tag makes sense. I suppose for Google it’s not important that two people find the same keywords at the same time – they can simply let people tag the images and then add any treshold they want (like “4 people must have chosen this tag for it to become a confirmed tag”).

AskMen.com made a survey to vote for the Top 99 women worldwide, and someone mapped their birthplaces onto Google Maps (along with pics, and sometimes videos). From Angelina Jolie to Cameron Diaz, from Tyra Banks to Anna Kournikova…
